Ruth Jasienski, PA-C, is a native of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, a suburb
west of Philadelphia. She moved to Maryland in 2009 for college. She took a
gap year from school obtain her EMT-B (BLS) certification and worked as a
nanny. She then graduated from Towson University in 2014, completing a
Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology. After graduating, she
earned her EMT-I (ALS) certification, worked as a scribe, and volunteered
as a medic at a local volunteer fire department. She moved to Philadelphia
in 2017 to start Physician Assistant school at Drexel University. Ruth
completed rotations in the greater Baltimore area, including at Saluja
Medical Associates, where she was drawn to the other providers, staff, and
patients. She graduated as a certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) and
earned her Master’s of Health Science in December 2019 and then joined
Saluja Medical Associates in 2020.
As a physician assistant, Ruth holds a post-graduate/master level degree, a
certificate as a physician assistant, and is licensed to practice in the
state of Maryland. She is able to perform physical exams, diagnose and
treat illnesses, prescribe medications, order labs or imaging, and
interpret tests. Working in conjunction with doctors, and under their
supervision, as well as other medical providers, physician assistants take
a team-based approach to managing patients.
Ruth is dedicated to practicing in primary care and believes in prevention.
As they say, “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” She
practices patient-centered care and believes in empowering the patient
thorough education. Ruth believes that allowing the patient to advocate for
themselves leads to better outcomes. She also holds the belief that mental
health is the foundation for physical health.
Throughout college she played rugby and she continues to enjoy following
the sport. Ruth is getting married in October 2020 to her fiancé, a local
firefighter, and enjoys playing with her dog outside of work.
